YOUR ART, ON SCREEN

How to add art to Samsung The Frame TV

Start with the file labeled Frame TV edition in your purchase downloads. Each picture includes its original PNG and a separate 3840 × 2160 PNG with a horizontal, 16:9 composition.

Check your model’s supported file types before uploading. Some models require a JPEG copy. The steps and common questions below explain how to choose and display your picture.

From download to display

  1. 01Choose the widescreen file

Use the PNG labeled Frame TV edition. Keep the original too.

  2. 02Check your model

Confirm its image size and file type. Export a JPEG copy if your TV requires it.

  3. 03Upload and display

Use SmartThings or USB, then choose your picture in Art Mode.

Upload from your phone with SmartThings

  1. Download the picture and save it to your phone’s photo library.
  2. Open SmartThings and select your registered Frame TV under Devices.
  3. Open Art Mode, then Add Your Photos.
  4. Select the picture, choose Save on The Frame, then select it to display.

Menu labels can vary with your app and TV. Samsung’s photo upload instructions explain the supported workflow.

Upload with a USB drive

  1. Copy the picture to a USB drive and connect the drive to your TV’s One Connect Box.
  2. Open Art Mode, choose My Collection, then select the USB drive.
  3. Choose Save, select your picture, then choose Save Selected.
  4. Open My Collection → My Photos to display the imported picture.

Check your model’s manual if its menus or connection box differ. These steps follow Samsung’s USB photo instructions.

Choose a border

With your picture displayed, press Up on the remote and look for Matte. Choose a style and color, then save your choice. Some Samsung guides call this setting Mount. See Samsung’s Art Mode controls.

Border choices can depend on your model, image proportions and resolution. A 16:9 file does not guarantee every border option. Samsung recommends 3840 × 2160 for 43-inch and larger models in its Art Mode guide.

Questions about your artwork files

Which file should I use?

Choose the Frame TV edition for its horizontal 16:9 composition. Keep the original for its uncropped view and other uses. Original dimensions vary and are listed on each artwork page, so check those dimensions before choosing a print size or another display format.

Is the Frame TV edition native 4K artwork?

It is a 3840 × 2160 file made by cropping and enlarging the original. Enlargement adds pixels, not native detail. View the artwork at your usual seating distance to judge its appearance on your screen.

Why is some of the original picture missing?

The original and widescreen edition can have different proportions. Preparing the 16:9 edition trims some edges. Compare both previews on the artwork page before choosing the composition you prefer.

Will the PNG work on every model?

File requirements vary. For example, Samsung’s 32-inch LS03C documentation recommends 1920 × 1080 and lists JPEG for personal-photo uploads. Check your exact model’s manual. If it requires JPEG, export a separate JPEG copy at its recommended dimensions and keep the purchased PNG.

Do I need a Samsung Art Store subscription?

Use the personal-photo upload workflow for your Still & Somewhere downloads. Samsung documents this separately from its paid Art Store subscription. Its upload and subscription guide explains the options.

My SmartThings menus look different. What should I check?

Confirm that the TV is registered in SmartThings and that the app is current. Samsung’s SmartThings guide covers 2018 and later Frame TVs and requires a Samsung Account and internet access. Follow your model’s manual for earlier TVs or different menus.

How long are my download links available?

Save both editions in the browser you used for checkout within 24 hours of starting checkout. The downloaded files can then be kept on your device. Your purchase is a digital download; no physical print or frame is shipped.
